Divorce

This week in my Family Relations class we discussed divorce. Today I want to focus on how divorce effects children. One reason why people decide to remain in an unhappy marriage is to protect their children. My parents did this. My mom wanted to divorce my dad but she stayed with him because she wanted us to be financially stable and she didn't think she could support us on her own. Divorce can also be very painful for children. Sometimes though a divorce can be better than parents staying together. Divorce can have some short term effects such as physical and emotional problems and some long term effects as well. But depending on the situation, divorce can be a good thing.
